 From the Desk of the Associate Editor Welcome to the second year of the Internet Journal of Allied Health Sciences and Practice. Its exciting to see the interest in the journal continue to grow. Once again we have articles from around the globe. Through this venue we are learning more about allied health practice throughout the world. In this issue we will explore educational perspectives in respiratory therapy through the use of writing across the curriculum, sleep studies, violence in youth sports, obesity, innovations in speech-language therapy and the use of prayer in the care of patients. It is clear that allied health professionals are making a tremendous difference in the lives of their patients and communities through research and innovation. Allied Health Professionals are no longer on the periphery of health care, they are a central force in delivery and discovery.
