Mr. Luke Perraton, B. Physio., M. Physio (Musc and Sport), a resident of Australia, was named the IJAHSP "Reviewer of the Year - 2009" by the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor for his outstanding volunteer efforts as a peer reviewer. This recognition is given to the reviewer who has provided extraordinary service and support to the editorial efforts of the journal and who has provided authors with invaluable assistance in writing their manuscripts. Luke provides insightful and thoughtful reviews that have helped authors to publish their work.
Luke Perraton works as a research assistant at the International Centre
for Allied Health Evidence (iCAHE) and works clinically as a sports and
musculoskeletal physiotherapist. He graduated from La Trobe University
in Melbourne in 2001 with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and completed the
Master of Sports and Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy program at the
University of South Australia in 2008. He was the recipient of the
Brooks running prize and the Marie Hammond prize for academic
achievement during 2008. Luke has diverse working experience having
worked in private and public sectors in Melbourne, Adelaide, Cairns,
Darwin and Scotland. His clinical interests relate to sports medicine
and include the management of overuse injuries, running and cycling
biomechanics and adventure sports. As an emerging and early career
researcher, Luke’s research interests lie in evidence based practice and
in the role of exercise in the management of mental and physical health
problems. Luke also undertakes teaching as part of educational programs
delivered through iCAHE. Luke has an emerging publications and
presentations portfolio having published widely (6) and presented at the
2008 South Australian Physiotherapy symposium and the 2009 Sports
Medicine Australia national conferences.
